The Corporation

.

Crisis brings insight... here is a great film!

As there were the times of the church, the monarchy or the communism, today's dominant structure of domination is the corporation.THE CORPORATION explores the nature and spectacular rise of the dominant institution of our time. Footage from pop culture, advertising, TV news, and corporate propaganda, illuminates the corporation's grip on our lives. Taking its legal status as a "person" to its logical conclusion, the film puts the corporation on the psychiatrist's couch to ask "What kind of person is it?" Provoking, witty, sweepingly informative, The Corporation includes forty interviews with corporate insiders and critics - including Milton Friedman, Noam Chomsky, Naomi Klein, and Michael Moore - plus true confessions, case studies and strategies for change.

  1. It's a happy indonesian dish that is a mix of different vegetables and spices, krupuk "bread" and other ingredients if wanted.

By extension it means 'mixed' or 'mix'.

And it is a funny word that ends in o.

  2. ... mmmh, krupuk ;-)

I have heard about this documentation some time ago, but missed to see it. Now I will do.

I have downloaded this documentation from the usenet (a version with German subtitles) - 1.6GB within a little bit more than one hour. Not bad. (Could still be much better, but my phone line has a decay of 30 dB, so, it is limited for me.) These Torrent protocols are nice, but much too slow for bigger files like movies ...

  3. When I first saw it some years ago, we've been downloading it for... one day. One hour sounds marvelous. :-)

  4. That's usenet (which means nntp-protocol) :-)

Usually you can download with full speed of your internet connection, independent on how big the file is and how many are downloading the same file at the same time.

My phone line is quite bad :-( If you can get e.g. real 16000-DSL-speed, then a 4.7 GB DVD will be downloaded in about half an hour ...

With http-protocol (used in www) that's simply not possible. And with torrent protocols running on www as an additional layer it's usually worse, because you are not connected with fast servers, but with other computers in a network.

P.S.: Did you read my 2nd comment about Tantra in Eolake's blog?
